CFD Manager

UK - Various Locations/CFD/ Oil and Gas / Salary Package as per experience /Permanent/Urgent - SB2 - 49

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing commercial consultancy projects directly reporting to the Head of CFD. The role will involve management and coordination of project staff to meet project objectives and timescales, communications with clients, preparation of proposals and technical reports, and project engineering activities (i.e. CAD model construction, meshing, pre & post processing). The project manager will be also called on to assist in the development of numerical modelling capabilities in all market areas. Day-to-day work will involve close interaction with other members of the company as well as on occasion other Client subsidiary companies.

Additional attributes that the successful candidates will have include the following:

• Possess relevant tertiary qualifications with a fluid dynamics background and preferably a MSc or PhD with CFD content.
• 5 to 10 years experience within a consultancy environment with exposure to Oil & Gas, Civil Construction and Marine Engineering markets, including working closely with the commercial clients.
• A high level of computer literacy and CFD modelling experience (CFX, ICEM, FLACS experience preferred).
• Be familiar with hazard and risk modelling for Oil and Gas projects (e.g. QRA, EIA, FEMA, HAZID).
• Experience in consultancy project management, and a proven ability to deliver in a fixed price and fixed deadline contracting regime.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language and the ability to deal confidently with clients.
• Self-motivated with a drive and ambition to develop numerical modelling capabilities in accordance with the company’s business objectives.

• Experience in the Oil & Gas sector is considered an asset.
