Principal CFD Consultant

London /CFD/ Oil and Gas /10 Yrs+/ Salary Package as per experience /Permanent/Urgent - SD1 - 12 
Responsibilities
You will lead a team of CFD specialists and consultants working in the area of fire/explosion simulations and flow assurance for the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry. The role will involve significant client liaison and interaction with other cross functional consulting teams within organisation to support clients in multi-discipline projects.
The role will also include:
  • Managing the CFD team in terms of resource planning and personnel development.
  • Supporting project delivery, project management and business development.
  • Developing other consultants through project management activity and coaching.
  • Contributing to development of the strategy for the unit and market new CFD services/applications both internally and externally.
  • Taking the role of technical authority in the CFD field and advising on areas for investments and hiring of resources.
  • Publishing and presenting technical papers in conferences and workshops. 
Qualifications 
We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual with the following profile:
  • Postgraduate degree with  particular focus on CFD modelling
  • Experience with consequence analysis, such as deflagration and explosion dynamics, explosion overpressure effects, unconfined vapour cloud explosions, BLEVEs, and flame radiation
  • Strong technical background in combustion and/or fire dynamics
  • Knowledge of Linux environment
  • Experience in the Oil, Gas and Process Industry
  • Highly committed to project delivery
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous risk consulting experience is an advantage.
