Technical Author

Our client has a new role for an experienced Technical Author, to develop the content, presentation and delivery of product manuals, data sheets, knowledge base, servicing information and training aids. These will be used by Client’s worldwide customer base, and there will be a requirement to work with translators for foreign language support. The role will require close liaison with sales & marketing, front-line support and technical departments, as well as client distributors. Degree level in a scientific/engineering subject is required.
The ability to assimilate the operation and setup of a complex range of software-controlled instruments, and produce clear, concise and structured documentation is essential. As responsibilities will include the organisation and management of the relevant sections of the Company’s website, web publishing skills would be advantageous.

Product Assessment Technician

Product Assessment Technician/ SUK1102ENG02-2/Cumbria, UK/ Salary Negotiable
A vacancy has arisen for one of our clients for an experienced Technician, to plan, document and perform a wide range of qualification and design proving tests on the Company’s products. These include electrical, mechanical, acoustic, software, environmental and compliance tests, such as EMC. Where appropriate, tests will be referenced to BS/EN, IEC or MIL Standards, and will involve both in-house testing and external test sites. Minimum HND in Electronic Engineering is required.
A practical approach, along with the capability to be able to perform tests across a wide range of disciplines is essential, as is the ability to comprehend and interpret standards. It will be necessary to be able plan a test sequence based on a product specification, perform and analyse those tests, and maintain a clear record of test results. Familiarity with electronic test equipment along with a good level of computer literacy will also be required.

Engineering Business Development Manager

An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Business Development Manager. 
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills in both written and oral work and will have commercial knowledge and experience, ideally gained from working within the subsea industry.
Responsibilities
  • Manage business development activities as allocated by the Sales and Marketing Director, including the management of all trading agreements, commercial negotiations, pricing and contract details
  • Manage key customer accounts and build new accounts
  • Develop new sales and product development strategies
  • Develop a wider customer base
  • Engage and support the Client Distributor Network in the execution of the business development plan
  • Liaise with other technical and commercial specialists within Client to help deliver product solutions to satisfy customers’ requests
  • Assist and support the management team to help introduce a growth plan to meet the company’s strategic objectives
  • Visit customers in the UK and internationally as required
Education and Skills
You will be educated to a minimum of HNC/ HND or equivalent in a technical, marketing or administrative discipline. You will have sound attention to detail and be able to work with minimum supervision. In return, you will be  offered competitive remuneration.
