E&I Approval Engineer

Our Client is looking for E&I Approval Engineer with specific experience in any of the following technical areas:

• HV / LV switch gear and distribution.
• Dynamic Positioning Systems.
• Fire & Gas / Emergency Shutdown Systems
• Hazardous Area Equipment and Ventilation Systems.
• Drilling and Pipe Handling Systems.
• Control & Monitoring Systems.
• Independent Competent Persons (ICP) activities according to the UK Offshore Safety Case Regulations.
• Be familiar with International Codes and Standards .
Responsibilities
You will be part of a team of multi-discipline Engineers with the following duties and responsibilities:

• Carry out plan approval, design review and verification.
• Project management and Customer interaction ( to a level dependent on previous experience).
• Provide professional guidance, mentoring and support to less experienced Engineers. Verify and check the work of other Engineers as applicable.
• Ensure that all project deliverables such as reports, certificates and contractual agreements are submitted in accordance with client expectations.
• Ensure Project Management procedures and adhered too. Ensure that projects are priced correctly are well managed and that they achieve target returns.
• There may be a requirement to carry out occasional surveys of Offshore / Marine Systems, both onshore and offshore.
Qualifications
Your education, skills and experience will include, but may not be limited to:

• Relevant Engineering Degree
• Alternatively, we will consider favorably lesser qualified engineers who can clearly demonstrate practical experience.
• Relevant post-graduate experience preferred although not essential.

Our client is looking for Senior and Principal Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers to join their London office.
Major Duties
For the position the candidate can expect to:
• Perform approval of oil and gas projects for world-wide locations: onshore / offshore / class / non-class.
• Provide professional guidance, mentoring and support to less experienced Engineers in all matters pertaining to Electrical, Instrumentation, Control disciplines.
• Verify and check the work of other engineers as applicable.
• Provide advisory/technical services to customers and National Authorities.

Technical domain knowledge appropriate for the position, one or more of the technical areas noted below:
• Offshore Power Generation and distribution
• UPS
• ESD Systems
• F&G systems
• SIL compliance
• ATEX 95 and ATEX 137
• Hazardous Area Classification
• Telecommunications
• Lighting

Qualifications
The following qualifications are considered to be essential:
• A university level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is essential.
• Minimum 8 years design or design review experience.
• Domain knowledge in Electrical / Instrumentation / Control Systems

Having some of the following attributes would be useful but not essential:
• Chartered or working towards chartership.
• Domain knowledge in 2nd area (safety).
• Experience with ATEX, SIL or other EU Directives.
• Construction / Commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of class and VQS for approval is an advantage
• Ability to technically mentor

Qualifications
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional individuals with the following:

·        A relevant technical degree qualification (Engineering / Sciences)
·        Significant experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas sector
·        Alternatively: similar experience in downstream Process sector or Nuclear Industry with  transferable skills
·        Good knowledge of systems and services in Asset Risk Management / Pipelines Consulting
·        Previous risk consulting experience is also an advantage.
