Project HSE Advisor


Houston/Energy & Engineering/ Experience 5 -15 years/ Salary as per experience/Permanent/ Urgent /SEU-174-1

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Advises the Projects HSE Manager on project HSE needs, requirements, significant incidents, as well as potential issues and unresolved hazards.
  • Promotes a proactive HSE culture including inherently safer design concepts on assigned projects.
  • Develops and implements HSE program, procedures, and practices for facility design and construction consistent with the client's HSE Management System.
  • Supports and advises projects with compliance of HSE procedures and practices for facility design, construction, and project HSE execution as well as meeting client requirements, industry good practices, and governing regulatory requirements.
  • Implements project stage reviews to ensure that the HSE design meet or exceed performance requirements of client, the project, the client, as well as governing regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates formal safety assessments including HAZIDs, HAZOPs, QRA, and the case for safety.
  • Provides HSE proposal support including cost estimates and plans.
  • Supports project management in the selection, assessment of HSE staff/consultants on their projects. Assures reporting, investigation, mitigation and appropriate communication of project HSE incidents are undertaken in a timely and appropriate manner. Assist project management in incident investigation and reports, as required. 
  • Implements construction/fab yard reviews to ensure that the HSE programs and performance meet or exceed requirements of client, the project, and the client. Coordinates HSE project activities for transition of facilities to operations. Assists Corporate HSE as requested
  • At least 5 years in Project FEED development for offshore Oil and Gas operations 
  • Able to develop HSE philosophies for Active & Passive Fire Protection, Emergency Shutdown, & Fire Zoning  
  • Able to advise and aid in the development of Safety & Lifesaving Equipment plans / lists that comply with client and local regulatory requirements 
  • Able to advise on Hazardous Area Classification and equipment selection  
  • Able to provide input into HAZID, HAZOP, and qualitative and quantitative Safety studies
