Senior Consultant Structural Engineer

Opportunity Description
Experienced and motivated Structural Engineer to lead the team of Structural Engineers within our Consultancy practice in Aberdeen, providing support to a wide range of clients and projects in the oil & gas industry internationally. Degree qualified with 15 plus years relevant experience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the Structural Engineering capability within our client’s Consultancy business;
  • Provide guidance and quality assurance for the structural Engineering discipline;
  • Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships;
  • Respond to client enquiries and produce high quality proposal and bid submissions;
  • Provide support to a wide range of green-field and brown-field, multidisciplinary development studies executed in-house Aberdeen;
  • Provide support to multi-discipline studies executed in other client’s  regional offices (e.g. Paris, Stavanger, Abu Dhabi);
  • Produce high quality study deliverables and deliver presentations as required;
 Relevant Experience
  • Previous experience of working in a consultancy environment, overseeing and supporting a number of short-duration studies simultaneously;
  • Pre-FEED development of structural solutions for brown-field developments, with Offshore construction/installation experience;
  • Jacket conceptual design and analysis for weight and cost estimating purposes (we currently use the FS2000 suite of computer programs);
  • Experience of onshore civil and structural Engineering would be an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of foundation solutions for offshore installations;
  • Decommissioning experience would be an advantage;
  • Identification of fixed and floating substructure solutions and technical/commercial evaluation of competing solutions;
  • Experience of both deep and shallow water developments.

Subsea Pipeline Engineer

JOB ROLE: Providing senior level Pipeline Engineering technical inputs & providing Project/Team leading Management expertise on a wide variety of International Subsea Field Development projects. This includes working in Detail Design areas FEED & pre-FEED as well as contributing to occasional Field Development Studies. In short of lot of genuinely challenging and technically varied Subsea projects - much of our current work is in deep almost ultra-deep water depths around the globe.
EXPERIENCE: We would expect an extensive & varied background in Subsea Pipeline Engineering in a range of water depths - in particular we are looking for a strong track record in the FEED & Detail Design project stages.

Principal Process Engineer

Our client is a world-renowned Process Consultancy Division and we are looking for Principal Process Engineer for long-term international client projects.
PROJECTS: Involve Conceptual Engineering, FEED and Study work on long-term projects for International Super Majors, Majors and Independents.
EXPERIENCE: We would expect a minimum of 10 years in Process Engineering experience ideally with a similar Consulting/Front End Engineering organisation dealing with Conceptual work and Studies in the Subsea/Offshore O & G sector.
Previous Operator experience would be a great advantage and any previous international exposure would be a bonus.

Principal Flow Assurance Engineer

The Opportunity
The successful applicant will become involved in projects related to oil, gas, LNG, Hydrogen, and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), and power generation projects, located both onshore and offshore, and in a diverse range of international locations. You will be working with major energy providers.
Our client’s work is undertaken in support of the safe operation of existing facilities, and in the development of new facilities from Concept Development to Detailed Design. As well as consulting assignments you will also be involved in technical development work to generate new tools and applications. Less experienced applicants would augment our existing activities, whilst the opportunity exists for an experienced person to take on more management responsibilities.
 
Background/Experience
Successful candidates will have a good degree in an engineering or science discipline, and may be qualified to a higher level. Our staff is drawn from a variety of backgrounds, including academia, research, vendors, design, consulting, regulatory, and operations. A background in Major Hazard industries would be an advantage.
Key attributes being sought from experienced applicants should be focussed around risk management and could include experience in topics such as HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA, FTA, QRA, ALARP Demonstrations, SIL assessments, Fire and Explosion Risk Analysis, Safety Case Development, etc.

CFD Consultant

Our Client is a rapidly developing company providing Scientific, Engineering, Safety and Risk Management Consulting services to clients across a wide range of industry sectors. Our client is currently seeking a Graduate or Post Graduate to join their Bristol office. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in analysing processes involving fluid dynamics, multiphase flows and heat transfer.  The candidate will support our client in a range of industries (water, nuclear, defence and petrochemical) by undertaking hand/spread sheet calculations, developing CFD models, interpreting results, preparing presentations and technical reports.
Background/Experience
Successful candidates will have a degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences with at least a 2.1 undergraduate degree. Candidates should have a good knowledge of fluid dynamics, excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience of C/Perl/Java/Fortran/Matlab would be beneficial but not essential, as would experience of using CAD Packages, Ansys Fluent or CFX.

Senior Naval Architect

Our Client’s Offshore Services Department in Aberdeen is currently looking to recruit additional Naval Architects to provide Design Assessment and Plan Approval services.
Major Duties
You will be part of a team of multi-discipline Engineers, with the following typical duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the review, approval or verification of maritime structures; in particular those associated with client’s classified ships and MOUs, in accordance with our client and other internationally recognised rules and standards. The assessment and approval of other structures (lifting appliances, pulling accessories, etc) may be undertaken as and when required.
  • Project management and customer interaction associated with various sizes and complexities of project, to a level dependent on experience.
  • Ensuring that project management procedures and internal systems are adhered to, whilst delivering reports and certificates in accordance with our client procedures and customer expectations.
  • Provision of professional guidance, mentoring and support to less experienced members of the team.
Qualifications
Your education, skills and experience will include, but may not be limited to:
  • A relevant Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ post graduate experience, in the design and analyses of maritime related structures, with an emphasis on ships and/or MOUs. The candidate should possess a sound working knowledge of vessel dynamics, loadings, analyses using FEM, assessment in accordance with structural class rules, etc.
The following attributes would be considered advantageous:
  • Relevant field experience.
  • FEM experience, using shell elements.
  • Experience in design of maritime equipment (e.g. lifting appliances/pulling accessories) and their foundations.
  • Code/joint check experience.
  • An understanding/appreciation of non-structural (classification and statutory) aspects pertaining to ships and MOUs (e.g. stability, piping systems, fire and safety, freeboard, tonnage, etc).
